A piece of Ireland.

MA - my best friend since middle school - went to Ireland this summer, and yesterday when I got home, there was a package waiting for me from her. I excitedly tore through the paper and found the sweetest note and gift.


She wrote: "This is called the Claddagh ring. In Ireland, the girls wear the heart facing in if they're in a relationship (right hand = unmarried, left/in = married) and facing out on the right hand if they're single. Girlfriends buy them for girlfriends! Thought this was too cute!"

Since I'm unmarried but in a relationship, I'll be wearing my Claddagh ring on my right hand with the tip of the heart facing in.


I'm absolutely smitten. Isn't it gorgeous?
