So, yesterday was a super big deal: we had record breaking temperatures - it was 106 outside. Oh, and I turned 22.
I slept in, and when I finally crawled out of bed, I went out for coffee and a little shopping spree at Anthropologie. (I wore this to my birthday dinner; I've never felt so selfish and indulgent when buying something. $78 for a tank top!)
Since most of my friends have 8 to 5's, we celebrated after work. We went out for sushi, went bowling at a new downtown bowling alley, and then came back to my house for dessert - donuts & funky candy!
The theme of my birthday party was trends. We wore mustaches, played with sparklers, drank really obscure sodas, and ate old school candy. (We also reused the mason jars from this post and used napkins made from 100% recycled fibers. You know, because the "green" thing is a trend, too.)
For those that didn't have to be back at work at 8am, we stayed up until 6am (!!) this morning. I haven't done that in so long, and I'm definitely paying for it today. But man, was it wonderful to spend the evening under the stars with a few good friends and an army of lightning bugs.
I can't believe I'm 22. I don't feel 22. I look like I'm 12 and act like I'm 16. But I'm excited for the journey of 22 - college graduation, my first real job, etc.
Here's lookin' at you, 22.
i love those nights when i find myself out until 6. they so rarely happen anymore, but they're always something to write home about. happy, happy birthday--may this year bring you many, many wonderful things.
